Bored Aussies

Hi guys,

As many of you might know Starcraft in Australia is dying, the Bored Aussie server is the only Starcraft server in Australia remaining since aus-1 has been down. Anyone willing to join Bored Aussie to play starcraft should post here to recieve an invite to our server.

Just recently the Bored Aussie server had a friendly match against the Aus-1 server, the results were 3 games to BA and just 1 to Aus-1. Bored Aussie is currently running another 1v1 tournament which consist of 32 players fighting it out. We are currently in the final stages with only 8 players remaining, these players are all at a high level.

Once again, please post here if you would like to join the Bored Aussie Starcraft server.

BTW what is all this i invite stuff about? I tried to go there the other day  but i couldn't because i needed an invite, whats the point of it

I've already sent u an invite a while ago, if you do not see it check your junk mail. I don't know how far your conversation with pure_knight went but i'll take over from now.

The purpose of the invite system is to prevent users from making heaps of accounts and coming back with another account when they have been banned. We do have powers to ipban but it is easy to bypass, which is where the invite system comes in. Basically Bored Aussies is a massive warcraft based server but we have a small starcraft community that i hope to build up into a big and active server.

Also, the invite system, while I admire it, it's rare on BA that you play a game in which atleast 2 people don't leave.

Even though I've been on your server through your forum post that bypasses invitiations I'd be happy for an official invitation

Actually you know getting an invite from Boredaussie is really damn hard, I tried for a while tonight and had one (and he was the only one) person tell me that if in a week I still haven't been able to get an invite he'll invite me using one of his 3 emergency invites

Now is it just me or is this discouraging just a bit? I can't go into the official 'invite' threads that people occasionally post links to because it asks me to login, and people who are only contactable through msn (which are few and between) often don't want to or can't invite me, at least now I understand why people want to save their invites for special occasion because they come out so irregularly (one invite per account every six to eight months)

Sorry I'm just a bit frustrated as all I wanted to do was play some Starcraft tonight lol, and see if Boredaussie was worth it, though I'm still just as willing to play on Boredaussie if I get an invite

There should be a whole lot more invites up for grabs soon as the winners of the 2v2 tourney get a whole lot of invites and chances are they will invite more Aussie SC players

How does this invite system work (like where you get it and stuff like that)?

After this has been explained to me, I would love an invite (I'm not the best player though)

Invite system works like this.

1. You are invited into BA, your account will have no invites.
2. The management team will send 1 invite per account with a max of 3 invites to 3 accounts per IP, every 6-12 months. Although there is not set date for invite refresh.
3. You use your invite to invite friends, and if you wish not to use your invites, they will gradually pile-up over time.

As for the invite, i'll be happy to invite any Oceanic SC Player onto BA. nps, just email me at Pure_Knight@live.com with a desired email address as to where you want your invite to be sent. I will NOT be accepting emails from people who would like to join the server PURELY for dota.
