My names Matthew Delaney and I live in Sydney, Australia, I'm in Year 9 at Sydney Boys Highschool

I basically play games because I'm generally a lazy person (apparently I'm intelligent and hard-working if you look at test results and overall time spent studying though)

If my computer wasn't so crap I'd be into the games like COD4 and BF:2142, but it is really shitty, so I play WC3, Dawn of War (Rts I'm best at so far), Starcraft and WoW, and quite often my framerate lags hard when playing those games at the lowest settings.

First game was probably Red Alert, I played a ton of that when I was 5, and my Dad has always been into gaming so I played Quake and Doom as well, as well as Command and Conquer: Tiberium Wars

I enjoy games and prefer more mature environments, (note that I still like to laugh at Dominoes posts) and well, that's me really, when SCII comes out I'm most likely going to get it (it all depends on whether or not B.Net 2.0 is Pay to play) and if I get it I'll come along to your LAN parties (without the LAN now...) and play SCII,

SCII appeals to me more then SC:BW because everyone will be starting out with a fresh slate, and I'll be able to get better at it along with everyone else, rather than getting good around a lot of players who are already extremely good

I've dabbled in map-work for SC and WC3, but nothing major, and nothing that you'd want to play on, just trying to learn the JASS language and that sort of thing (but I don't just unlock maps and change some minor things, it's all from scratch baby!)

That's me, Eskanasi

Hi I am Alex and am 13yrs old. I play mainly d2, sc1 and wc3 but am quite casual and only play campaigns. I live in Gosford, Australia and go to G.H.S. I joined this site because I was excited about SC2 and really want beta ( it might just make me play online games). My first PC game is probably wc2 and the first game I was really into was crash bandicoot and spyro on PS and PS2.

Hi my name is Brodie Stone and I am Year 10 at Glenunga International High School in Adelaide. Practically everybody has a different nickname for me as I am friends with pretty much everybody (the nicknames include Scruffy, Stoner, Fishy, Brodo, Fluffy and, of course, You) so please feel free to make your own.

I have been playing computer games since I was five, starting with Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive (a game half-way between RTS and FPS) and Civilizations (a Turn Based Strategy).

I now have more games than many people I know have heard of, these include the 3 latest Civilizations, Desperados 1 and 2, WC 1,2,3, SC and BW, Red Faction Guerilla, COD 1 and 6, DOW and two expansions and Battlefield 1942. This is not even a quarter of my collection and I have lost several games behind the all the others.

Despite the fact that you could not see the entirety of my games at one time, I am the absolute middle of the pile player. In almost any game I play my win to loss ratio is about 1 to 1.

My computer is probably one of the best, it's got the best processor ever and several other components probably were only beaten in the last six months. I can play any game on pretty much any setting with no lag unless someone else has bad internet.

I became interested in Starcraft 2 about a month before they added the Baneling to the official website and have been holding out for it ever since.

As you can probably tell I play on the computer more often then anything else. I do read books occasionally and I have a few sets of Warhammer 40k models. I will take anyone on in a game of pool and, on every occasion except one, lose. I also like drawing and I'd like to be a theoretical artist (just a name i use for the people who draw artwork for computer games). As of other areas of work I'd to go into acting, animating and writing (novels or lore i don't care) are my favourites.

If anybody else lives in Adelaide it would be awesome to play some SC2 with you sometime because everybody I know thinks it won't come out for another decade or so.

This is pretty long - sorry I just wanted to show the history of events I have run so you guys know me and what I like to do right off the bat

Hi I am known as Del (or iCCup.deL, or MarS) but my real name is Brendan. I live in Sydney at the moment completing my final year in a Structural Engineering degree, but I have lived in Tasmania, Queensland and Canberra for significant times in my life. Was born in Hobart - feel free to make jokes.

I am an admin at iccup.com and have been for over 14 months, leading the News section and also performing various other tasks: Main news posts, recruiting news writers, choosing 'maps of the week' for the last four seasons, choosing the additions/removals from the map pack for the past 4 seasons, solving ladder complaints recently, helping out whenever asked, and hosting several National Tournaments (namely, all 3 of the Aussie ones, and the Philippines and Netherlands ones as well). However, as of next weekend I am resigning as an admin due to time constraints with my uni work, and also for a lack of motivation to do the time-consuming projects required at iccup. I will move on to smaller things, like aus-community based stuff and helping e-friends out.

Also this gives me time to actually play SC and SC2 - as part of the D/C+ ranked Terror Australis clan on iccup.

My SC:BW community resume is pretty big, especially for Australian-based events mostly run through teamliquid.net or iccup.com but most recently many of you probably know about the StarCraft Brood War Tournament sponsored by this site with a beta account prize.

Other than that I have hosted a hugely popular and successful State competition (unimaginatively titled State of Origin, abbreviated to SoO), which had 60 signups from all over Aus and lasted for 7 weeks during the christmas break. Queensland swept both the A- and B-Team competitions. Find out info in links at the end Smiley

Additionally I host tournaments for Aus and NZ SC1 players, the 8th (and possibly final before I resign from iCCup) will be played out this weekend. More info about them HERE, including a running leaderboard and stats Smiley

As a pseudo-prize for winning the SoO competition an 'all stars' team for Australia was assembled and played a showmatch against one of the top USA sponsored SC1 (and now SC2) teams, Team Evil Geniuses. Find out the results and videos HERE if interested. The event was quite popular and the games did not fail to deliver.

Other than that I can't think of anything else to gloat about, apart from being given the chance by good friend Pholon from teamliquid.net to host one of TeamLiquid's 'Arena' showmatches. I hosted the 5th episode, featuring Aussie e-sports legend Legionnaire. Again, see more info HERE and see results and videos HERE.

As for non-SC based stuff I play table-tennis a little bit (not good, just for fun Tongue) and I play rugby when friends do. I watch rugby on TV a lot (both codes) and thoroughly enjoy it - am up for long, boring talks about any aspect of it if you like Tongue Just PM.

I also like making banners and other graphics in my spare time and usually make my own brackets and banners for various events I host.

As for gaming history I never really knew much about competitive gaming, and started playing games like WC3, CS, TF after attending a friend's LAN and having a blast. I got into SC1 relatively late but instantly relished the competitive nature and also ability to watch it like a sport (I really like watching sports xD). My most played games would be, in order, Guild Wars, Counter-Strike (and Source), WarCraft III (mostly 2v2 and 3v3) and StarCraft.

I am considering a migration from SC1 to SC2 in both playing and hosting various events and hope to continue the highly successful State of Origin competition over to SC2 and hopefully achieve financial sponsorship from one of various prospects in the future.

That's all for now, cheers.

EDIT: Oh, also I'll mention that I like to get involved with NZ starcraft communities too and would in the future like to host various showmatches or fun community events with our cousins across the ditch. And also with Britain. I have a lot of ideas for SC and SC2 stuff but we will see what comes of it n_n

Hey guys, I'm Chai, real name Chai. Lol.

I just moved in to Perth just about a year ago from Singapore. Played SC:BW lots, some WC3 although I never really caught on to that. Never did like heroes/items. Hung on to DOTA for a while. But really itching for SC2 to come out.

Unfortunately in the year that I've been here, I haven't really found that many like minded gamers around here in Perth. Fortunately, somehow I stumbled upon this site. ;p

Be nice to me won't ya? ;p

Chai.

Rahad from Melbourne, Year 11 at Melbourne High, going by Disafear on SC2
First played Unreal Tournament at 7, loved games ever since
Was too young back then to know my friends had given me a cracked StarCraft, so i just used cheats and loved to own the computer (as all kids do)
Done a bit of mapping for UT3 while it was still popular
Still play some TF2, MW2 and DoW2 if I get time
Like Soccer, Cricket, Badminton, Reading and stuff...
Long live the Wheel of Time

I'm Kale, currently doing a bachelor of science at Melbourne Uni, very competitive person by nature, and I love multiplayer games, so the concept of E-sports is one I'm really really excited about.

I started off a nub like everyone, but grew up playing a good mix of RPGS/RTS and FPS with games like dune 2, cnc and unreal tournament. My first big multiplayer experience was CS 1.6, shortly followed by source. Put a hell of a lot of time into source, but wasn't really aware of competitive gaming back then which is a shame cos I got pretty good back when I was playing a lot. From there I moved onto the BF series, and had a good run with BF2 and 2142. At this point I was pretty much stuck on multiplayer and rarely went back to single-player for anything.

My RTS experience started with CNC3, which if you don't know was a very fun yet flawed and imbalanced game. At my level that didn't really matter though, and I had a blast trying to climb the ladders, and being wowed by top level replays, where things happened so differently to what I saw in teh games I played. In my quest to get better I came across www.gamereplays.org which is pretty much the best site for non-Blizzard RTS (though they are trying their hearts out for SC2, great place to upload replays if you need to). Lurked for a while, then started posting, then decided I should really get into it and went on their staff for a while. This lasted a while, from CNC3 to Kane's Wrath the expansion and then into the release of Red Alert 3, which was a really fun zany game, unfortunately there were a lot of things to abuse at top level. Eventually I gave it up as I realised I was spending a silly amount of time reading forums and working for there, and not nearly as much playing the game I knew so much about ><

So then we get to the waiting for starcraft period, where I watched GOM TV and tasteless religiously, learning what I could about the starcraft community in preparation for SC2. In my mind, SC2 is the ONLY game that has a chance of busting E-sports open in the western world. That's hugely important to me and I'm totally looking forward to being a part of that whether it's playing commentating organising stuff I don't care I just want to be around for Australia really getting pumped and going all out for it. I've been playing the beta since day 1, was ranked silver for my first 2 placements, got randomly reset the other day with the reset bug, went 5-0 and got into platinum lol so I'm not quite sure where my skill level is really at but I'm having a blast playing random atm.

Acct is genome.aus, hopefully can get some good games going with quality aussie players Smiley

After reading Del's it inspired me to give this a whirl.

I am known as Bman and have been since being dubbed that by the great ACT player Pandasaurus, however like Del my real name is Brendan! I live in a southern suburb of outer Sydney known as Engadine, however I have only been living here for about 9 months or so, I grew up in Wollongong. I am 21 years old (22 on Monday) and have completed a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing.

The first foray I had into the Starcraft Community was being a Nation War admin at WGTour which was the first big Starcraft ladder. At WGTour i worked my way up to Nation War Manager and eventually Tournament Super Admin. My favourite part of this job was running "Galactic Conquest"
http://www.gosugamers.net/starcraft/news/5589-the-galactic-conquest/0. Aside from that tournament I also co-organised two world cups.

In the Australia scene I ran 3 Clan League seasons. Helped organise and run the ASL - Australia Star League. And was also the leader of Australia A for around 3 years with Australia B thrown in simultaneously for about 6-9 months. During this time I lead the two teams into around 75 Nation wars with an over all victory percent of approximately 60.

I have been an admin in several top European clans however the most enjoyable was NaW, and during this time I hosted DreamHack winner Datoby for 2 days and showed him around Wollongong while my girlfriend kicked his ass at poker!

Outside of SC I work for Kellogg's and have done so for around 1 year. I play soccer but not very well and I love nothing more than a few beers and watching the football - NRL and more specifcally the Melbourne Storm!

My gaming history is pretty limited. SC, D2, War3, CS on PC and then on Xbox the Halo series, and Fifa

Hey my name is Michael Turner. I'm a 26 year-old small-time online poker professional. I'm from Bendigo but currently living in Shepparton (also regional Vic). Those of you who were in the Australian TFC community or the WC3:FT community during the first couple of years might remember me as Depops. I've met so many gamers IRL and it has become so mainstream that I've just decided to throw away the handle and go by my real name.

I'm certainly not a naturally gifted player. At my peak as a WC3 player my APM would only sometimes reach 100, but I'm proud of my ability to come up with unorthodox strategies. My best tournament result was to make it to the quarter finals of a Victorian qualifier. During that tournament I made good use of the brewmaster back when most people thought he was a bad hero. I'm trying to continue that theme in the SC2 by doing things such as loading 8 banelings in to 2 overlords and dropping them in my opponent's mineral line. I also like burrowing infestors, sneaking them in to the enemy base, spending all my energy on infested marines then burrowing and hiding in the corner.

Heya, I'm Zebruh, real name Rhys, and I used to play starcraft all the time back in high school. I preordered starcraft 2 from EB (since I work there (no I'm not a plant >_<)) and then they announced that everyone who preorders gets a free beta key. Needless to say I was super psyched, and have gotten back into the starcraft spirit! I figured I'd get back into the community and since the starcraft forum I used to visit is MIA, I need a new one! So here I am! Cheesy

Anyway, I'm 20, male, doing a uni degree and working at EB Games Australia (where I work overtime without getting paid! Hells yeah!). I'm a super big fan of starcraft and always have been, I like protoss, then terran, then zerg.

Current thoughts on starcraft 2:
I miss goons, but sentries are cool substitutes.
Zerg are too hard to see on creep, they sort of just blend in and become invisible to me.
Void Rays are overpowered, which is why I use them all the time >_<.
People should shut up about the lack of moving shot! Tongue

I'm currently about 30 on bronze league 2v2 (I know, fail) and am too scared to play 1v1 yet.

I never really got into warcraft 3 online, although I played it (and frozen throne) all the way through in campaign, and played a lot of LAN UMS RPGs (or whatever ums is called in warcraft). I also played all of warcraft 2 as a kid (and even some warcraft 1, although I got bored a few missions into it >_<). Never played WoW, never will.

Anyway, that's my life in a nutshell. Nice to meet you all, hope you're a friendly bunch. Smiley

Edit: Also, forgot to say I've been playing around with the map editor and have made a few fun minigames and am working on a turn based battle system, which so far is completely failing Tongue (but hey, the rewards are bigger for difficult projects!).
