Currently Blizzard hasn't announced a release date. So when do you think Starcraft 2 will be released ?

I was hoping end of 2008, early 2009.

It really doesn't bother me how long it takes, even if its end of 09 I'm happy with if they really use that time to perfect the game as much as they can.

I was looking at alpha screenshots of the original Starcraft today and the extent of changes that were made to that game give me hope that Starcraft 2 will be the same. Even though its nice already, I must admit I would be disappointed if it was left how it currently is.

Hopely the s2a will be blessed with a beta before then and make the wait easier Smiley

But I bet that the release date is long enough away that we will all need to buy new comps to run SC2 fast enough to be competitive on B.net Tongue especially with Blizzard's and most gaming companies tendency to delay release dates.

Hmmm, I wouldn’t trust any figures just yet. I would 'estimate' around mid 2008, but that could be asking a bit much   Embarrassed

I agree in hoping for a beta test.

OH, and I have heard that the game is planned to come out on DECEMBER 25 2008.

THAT IS TOO LONG OF A WAIT, and is a BAD TIME.  IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All release dates will be pure speculation at this point in time.

If they were to release it around that time, it would be a smart idea to releases it before the 25th so people have a chance to buy it as an xmas present Cheesy

Hopefully with all this daily input and keeping myself up to date with whats new with Starcraft 2 that I don't lose interest by the time its released.

but then again, I played the original for at least 5 years and interest is still going strong.

EB just made up a fake release date to try scam some pre-orders, do not buy from them. Starcraft 2 Australia will soon have it's own store running where everyone can pre-order the game and you can expect delivery on the morning of the official release date once it is announced.
